We want to ensure that a diverse community of BioImage Analysts can attend the workshop. We will therefore provide travel grants based on a selection approach allowing to maximise diversity amongst travel award grantees.
You must register for the GloBIAS workshop via https://forms.gle/2xJ95bzJ6YGiSBoA6 and pay the registration fee
BioImage Analysis should be part of your regular day to day work
You will actively contribute to discussions and activities at the workshop
The travel grant application form requires the following:
Applicant’s motivation statement to participate in the workshop
Applicant’s contributions to open-source tools for image analysis, e.g. GitHub repositories or other tools
Applicant’s involvement in the bioimage analysis community
Applicant’s institution and their role at the institution
Limited personal information such as gender for the purpose of gender balance and anonymized reporting
The workshop session organisers will form a selection committee and will review all travel grant applications. Travel grant recipients will be chosen based on information obtained from the submitted applications. We will give out travel grants as the budget allows. The remaining eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Should a selected successful applicant not be able to attend the course, the next person on the waiting list will be offered the travel grant.
Applicants will book all travel and accommodation themselves. We have 5 travel grants for european and 4 travel grants for non-european attendees. The maximum amount for european travel grants is 600 Euros and for non-european travel grants is 1200 Euros.
You will need to submit your reimbursement request to German BioImaging. Details on how to hand in reimbursement requests will be sent to the succesful applicants after the selection process has been finalised and attendees have been notified.
The travel grant covers the following eligible items:
Travel costs (air travel, public transportation)
Accommodation costs (e.g. hotel)
Visa application fees
