GloBIAS Free Help is a regular community event where researchers and image analysis enthusiasts can receive personalized guidance on their bioimage analysis questions.
Participants can register for a 40-minute online session with members of the GloBIAS network to discuss analysis challenges, explore solutions, and receive advice on tools and workflows.

Due to the limited number of sessions, participants will be selected based on the relevance and clarity of their submitted questions. Selected participants will be notified by email and will receive scheduling details.
Free Help is a regular event and a guidance-focused initiative designed to:
Provide assistance for image analysis challenges
Help participants improve their skills with bioimage analysis tools and workflows
Facilitate knowledge sharing within the GloBIAS community
Each session is structured to maximize learning:
Participant-focused session: you receive 40 minutes of dedicated discussion about your analysis question.
Assigned trainer: one GloBIAS expert will lead the session and guide the discussion.
Collaborative expertise: additional GloBIAS trainers may also join the session. This allows the GloBIAS network to share expertise and perspectives, helping provide broader support for your question.
Sessions are organized to accommodate participants from different regions:
EU Morning Time/ CET – Suitable for participants from Europe, Asia, and Africa.
US Morning Time/ EST – Suitable for participants from the Americas..

Include the tag #globias-free-help so trainers can review your question in advance.

Provide a link to your forum post and basic information about your project.
Selected participants are contacted
You will receive an email with scheduling details.
Attend your online help session
Sessions take place online, and participants should be prepared to share their screen and show their images or analysis workflow.
Post your question:
Before applying for a Free Help session, we expect you to post your question on the Image.sc forum (forum.image.sc) and use the tag #globias-free-help. This allows trainers to review your problem in advance and prepare for the discussion. In some cases, posting your question on the forum may already lead to answers from the community and help resolve your issue even before the session.

Prepare representative images:
Free Help sessions are designed to discuss and improve your analysis workflow.
Please have your images available during the session and select 1-2 representative images that illustrate your problem. Avoid bringing your entire dataset.
Prepare clear questions:
Come prepared with specific questions or goals so the session can focus on the most relevant aspects of your analysis challenge.
GloBIAS Free Help sessions provide guidance and discussion, including:
advice on analysis strategies
troubleshooting workflows
suggestions for suitable tools or approaches
interpretation of analysis results
Please note that these sessions are not intended for performing full analyses or processing complete datasets during the session.

The sessions are open to researchers at any career stage working with biological imaging data, as well as anyone interested in learning more about bioimage analysis.
