Update the Data Carpentry BioImage Analysis Curriculum with Python
Data Carpentry BioImage Analysis Curriculum - update with Python
Join us to update the Data Carpentry Bioimage Analysis Curriculum with Python!
We’re inviting bioimage analysis professionals to an in-person workshop hosted by ISTA in Klosterneuburg, Austria, on April 7–8, 2025.
This workshop aims to adapt and expand the current Data Carpentry image processing curriculum into a go-to resource for beginner/intermediate learners of BioImage Analysis using Python.
Topics include:
Image basics (bit depth, dimensionality, metadata, example of relevant formats)
Preprocessing and segmentation (background correction, filters, watershed)
Measurements and simple analysis (features extraction, signal distribution, shape analysis)
This is a hands-on, collaborative event, and space is limited to 15 participants. We are seeking committed participants who can join an online pre-meeting ( March 20th, 2025 at 16:00 CET) and contribute actively during and after the workshop. Selected participants will be informed by March 7th 2025.
Thanks to funding provided by ISTA the workshop is free of charge, and we will provide all selected participants with accommodation on site for one night (Monday, April 7) and meals during the workshop. Participants are welcome to extend their stay at their own expense.
